Great videos. I am looking for a camera to replace my Sony A57 that got stolen.:( The SL1 is one of the ones I am considering, mostly because I see some great deals. And the DXO for low light was better than my A57.

Would you recommend the SL1 for someone that isn't a total beginner? In terms of controls, is it easy to change the ISO despite not having a dedicated ISO button?

I probably should have gone Canon or Nikon in first place instead of Sony. I didn't think they were going to neglect the SLT line as quickly as they did so even if camera wasn't stolen I would have likely switched soon.

Yes, there is a dedicated ISO button on the SL1, however not many other buttons. I take advantage of the custom "My Menu" to fill on gaps on buttons on my SL1.

I recently paid $280 for my like-new SL1 + EF-S 18-55mm stm on ebay. Do not pay more.

drat - you win! i paid $350 for my SL1 with kit lens, but i did get the 55-250 STM with it for only $150 more new with a canon warranty.

$350 sounds like a good deal with both STM lenses and the SL1 body. I may sell my 18-55 stm as I have good results with my Tamron 17-50 (non-vc).

The SL1 and Tamron 150600 G1 come with me to Costa Rica tomorrow.
