Helicon vs Zerene vs ???

I had the free trial of Zerene about 2 yrs ago, and I definitely liked it. Just cant justify the cost, nor prioritize it over other gear needs today. Im prepared to buy Helicon as it has a yearly license option at reasonable cost. If Zerene is jead and shoulders better, I probably would be better off waiting. If theyre close, or if Helicon is better, I can live with it.

Uses. Handheld focus stacks of LIVE insects. Likely smaller stacks of 4 - 20 shots. I doubt Ill ever bother with 100 shot stacks I read about, but who knows. I also have some snowflake shots to stack, but those are rare. Typical magnifications range from slightly less than 1:1 all the way to 3:1. Looking to play with higher magnifications. My gallery will show what mags Im at I think.

If there is another player aside from zerene or Helicon, Im open as long as their good. Photoshop, Ive learned, is HORRIBLE for stacking.
