Is there any chance you could show me this soft box? Or give me a link to where I could buy one?
Also what do you mean by flag?
Sorry for asking silly questions!
No such thing as a silly question when it comes to this stuff.
By flag I mean use something to direct the light away from the model. It's already pretty dim at it's minimum setting, so preventing it from going straight forward is all that's needed. This is a great description of how and when to flag a flash, very useful for on camera bounce: http://neilvn.com/tangents/about/black-foamie-thing/
As for the softbox, I picked up a cheap Neewer softbox with an S mount speedlight adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Softbox-Bracket-600EX-RT-Speedlite/dp/B016MKKAXI/
Went with that purely because of the adapter. It doesn't stress the foot of the flash because it clamps the top, and it leaves the body of the flash outside the sotbox for optical slave. That adapter would also allow you to pick up a cheap S mount snoot/beauty dish/barn doors etc at a future date.
Thank you so much this is so useful!
