Please do not be offended with following simple rules. I have no intention to embarrass you, just trying to help with no knowledge of you current DSLR skills.

  • Try to shoot center point AF and recompose, if needed
  • Try to use spot or center metering to learn how camera meters
  • Try to keep aperture at f/8-F/9 for now
  • Try to shoot at shorter shutter speeds (at least faster than 1/250-1/500 for now)
  • Try shooting in Av mode, if you don't do it yet
  • Don't be afraid to bump ISO up to 600-800 to provide desired aperture and shutter speed
  • Learn and use exposure compensation to maintain proper output in Av.
  • Give SR a few moments to pick up (always watch a green hex to stabilize)
  • Shoot in RAW

Below are a few samples with K-3 (your K-3II should AF better actually) and 500mm lens. All - hand held. Please also note that all images were more or less cropped.

Good luck,

SG

Some good tips and helpful advice Greyser and great images!
