Revuenon 55mm f/1.2 MC

I think this lens was made in the late 1980's which makes it quite a modern lens by my standards. It was made by Cosina and rebranded and sold by Revue, a German retailer. It is quite capable wide open but shows significant SA and a rendering which could be described as 'artistic'. Despite the dreamy look wide open, I find it surprisingly easy to nail focus at f/1.2 with this lens using peaking alone and rarely find it necessary to use a magnified view. Contrast improves significantly from F/2 onwards. My copy produces a very irregular shape when stopped down, which is annoying, but I still preferred this lens over a Pentax K 50/1.2 (well-regarded, very well made and the only other 1.2 lens I've tried to date) which was recently sold.

Here are a couple of shots, both at f/1.2, taken on a heavily overcast day and converted to black and white. Unashamedly not OOC
