Support for the original poll question.

On the contrary I think the very simplicity of the question works well.  It tends to conflate the issue of personal experience with the impressions of product reliability gleaned from available sources.

Making it more complex is not going to give any more assurance that the questions will be answered correctly.

The overall poll result more or less confirms my own impressions but it is not going to make me decide to relieve myself of my only (once) repair-needed Olympus product.

At the time I was more aggrieved at an attempt to deny warranty and proposing to bill me half my original purchase cost to repair what was a very obvious quality control issue that was widely reported on this forum.

Even a normally utterly reliable product can get a bad reputation from just a few noisy disgruntled users.  On the other hand a product that is utterly bad and incapable as well as unreliable will soon enough founder.  It seems that the reliability faults of the Olympus product are simply forgiven because of their overall advantages as a camera product.
