Finally, one person has remarked that this particular discussion may not be appropriate on a photography forum, and I tend to agree, so this is my last post on the subject.

I think arguments evolve, so it can be interesting to discuss this. If people are interested they can argue and if not they don't.

i do not mind as long as it happens in a dedicated subthread but i am not sure regarding dpr policy and rules.

Unfortunately there is a trend to over-simplify scienific numbers to make them easier to understand for those not well educated in the specific area which then often leads to misinterpretation and false claims.

Afaik Siberian tigers are endangered today mainly because of poaching, same as Rhinos in Eastern and Southern Africa. The habitats are still there and changes in regional climate are not big enough to really endager those animals. Here humans are the cause of the problem and humans could end the problem. Some African countries are trying to re-establish Elephant migration routes previously blocked due to framland or cow pastures. There is a lot we can do - if we are willing.

Corals and all creatures depending on them on the other hand are dying not only in La Ninja Periods but almost every year because the water is too warm fo too long which is at least in part a man made problem grown too big for us to handle even though we are now trying to build artificial barrier reefs.
