Hi Ted!

I realize that the "DG" designation has been shifted over time to "Fullframe" (kind of), mostly as opposed to the "DC" which only goes on cropping lenses. Originally the DG only meant (and still means) coatings specifically designed for digital sensors (as opposed to film). The most original description of the markings still comes via the german page:

https://www.sigma-foto.de/objektive/15mm-f28-ex-dg-diagonal-fisheye/technische-daten/

To sum it up, I was indeed talking about the "DG", which means the "digital" coatings, which incidentally graces only the "FF" lenses (because the lenses they upgraded with "DG" were the old film fullframe lenses, whereas the "DC" lineup always was optimized for digital as per definition).

Best,

Alex

Thanks Alex, now it is clear. I am a relative newcomer to Sigma stuff and wasn't aware of that history.

Good old Sigma . . consistency 'R' us . . .
