Glad to learn that the EM1ll worked so easily and so well for you. There's a certain irony in your beautiful photographs and your description of this character, who seems to have become a pretty safe, though awkwardly-overgrown pussycat. (We recently had a 1 KG kitten who nibbled and licked - cab only imagine what this must have been like!)

Believe me, i was definitely scared whenever he was running straight towards me. This is was and is no pet tiger, he is simply reasonably well trained which made the shooting possible. The trainer also told us that tigers do develop a strong binding to what they perceive as their parents - in this case him and his lovely wife.

Meanwhile the tiger is almost 9 months old and getting too big and strong to do this. They also cannot let him run free anymore, too dangerous..

Is the documentary - which you may well have already seen - of what it takes to find and photograph one of the very few left alive in the wild

I didn't know this, many thanks for the link. Incredible story and so sad to see the numbers of the tigers diminishing even while the documentary was filmed.

I'd love to be able to take pictures of wild siberian tigers or snow leopards but with a bit of comfort during nighttime and a safe place to sleep ;-).
