My goal for this lens is to shoot wide-angle landscape photography with a minimum of fisheye effect, and for that I'm thinking that if the Sigma 10-20 doesn't do the job then the Pentax 12-24 f/4 may be the next best choice. Does anyone have experience with that lens?

Yes, this was my first true W/A lens. it's very good, but for the often really tall church interiors that I favour I found it not quite wide enough. Both that and the 10-20 have the great advantage for me of taking filters. I really must be able to use an 80A or FL-day in season. Those who do not come from decades of film don't always see the point of that. But nowadays I wish I could return to some interiors with a filter to balance the inside usually incandescent lighting with what  comes through the glass.

For out of doors there are of course other kinds of filter that are very useful too.

DxO does a superb job of correcting both lenses. The older 10-20 is supposed to be superior wide-open. I've done some v. good shots with it. Mostly one can stop down a bit and use a higher ISO.
