Unmarked aperture rings are useless. It's just a half-baked attempt at being retro with no ergonomic benefit. It is much faster to change apertures by flicking a finger wheel on the body as with any pro DSLR instead of having to use a second hand to rotate a laggy ring.

If on the other hand, the aperture settings are marked on the ring, there is a genuine benefit because Fuji's don't have display on the top deck to display the aperture without looking at the EVF or LCD.

I agree about the benefit of aperture ring markings, but disagree that an unmarked ring is useless. Or at least, not useless to everyone. The lens aperture rings were one of the big Fuji attractions for me when I started researching which camera to buy. I'm enjoying going old-school with my X-T20 and XF 18-55. As soon as I discovered the XC had no ring it was off the list.

Does the 18-55 have aperture markings? if it doesnt im swayed towards 16-50 to be honest. All my legacy lens are marked, i cant understand why any would not be?

Going further can someone tell me which fuji lenses have marked aperture rings and which dont?

The XF 18-55 is unmarked. The XC 16-50 doesn't have a ring at all. As I understand it, only the Fuji primes and constant aperture zooms have marks on the aperture rings. All the zooms with variable aperture do not have the marks.

The constant aperture zoom 10-24 has no aperture markings. Such an interface makes no practical sense.
