The sun was going down and nearing the tree top line this afternoon, when I noticed my son and his friend playing marbles. Great rim lighting from the low sun, each marble lke a ball of light.

Shot into the house, grabbed the GX7 with the 45-150mm, shot out again, and…the two had disappeared off to another spot with some other kids, in deep shadow under the trees.

Blast!

Put the camera away, then a few minutes later, looked out and the two had abandoned the community game and resumed their dual.

Shot into the house, etc.

BUT in the two or three minutes it took to get out with the camera again, the sun had reached the top of the tree line on the near horizon and we were into diffused light.

In the tropics, sunset is a pretty speedy affair.

So a nice family picture, but the strong outline of the rim light and the bursts of light in the marbles had gone.

Tomorrow!!!

The camera was in "Vivid" setting and punched up the contrast asnd saturation a bit further in PP.

Geoff, you're serious photographer - start working with RAW. Believe me, petting your shots is no less pleasure than taking them.
