Are you a Foveonista?
6

I think I am. Currently I'm on my second different Foveon sensor (Merrill)  in my SD1, and I plan to get a third soon (Quattro H) . . . and hopefully a fourth (full-frame) some day. I wanted a camera with a Foveon sensor since before there was one, but I just didn't believe that the "low" resolution of the earlier cameras was good enough, and I didn't want a camera that could not save in both raw and jpeg. I got an SD14 anyway, and I fell in love with the image quality from Foveon sensors.

I don't care what camera the sensor is in, be it Sigma, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Sony or Canon . . . or some other brand, like Fuji or Panasonic. For me it's all about the sensor . . . though I do like a camera to have certain abilities. My Sony cameras are a compromise. So are my Nikons and the Canons I had before that. I feel as if the Foveon sensor in my SD1 Merrill is less of a compromise in ultimate image quality, and I am really happy about that.

How about you?
