Hi,

I saw many questions and discussions about the olympus flashes on Panasonic body, but yet none seem to correspond to my problem....

I have the Olympus Fl50-R and I used to mount it on my loyal Lumix GX7

Looks wrong but for using it years before it's compatible

I used it like a year ago and then started to experiment some fast primes so I kept the flash away for a time.

But one day I ordered new batteries for it (Eneloop ones) triggered the flash unmounted, seemed to work fine, reload faster thant it did in my memory (and probably cause i used dumb batteries)

Then I mounted it on my GX7 and *drums roll*......... I can't fire the flash when it's mounted !

The Slave mode works fine , the flash recognise the lens, the aperture, the focus distance, it boots automatically when i boot my camera, shuts down with my camera also, I got the little blinking flash icon on my camera, everything REALLY seem to work fine until i press the shutter button and the flash doesn't fire.... the camera was also hoping to fire the flash so the image i get everytime is seriously underexposed...

;;;

Everything looks fine .....

Communication between flash and camera seem to work great (I can even hear the flash move back and forth when I zoom)

Do anyone have an idea what's the matter with this lovely flash ?

(I already tried to reset all my camera settings to be sure no parameters messed with the flash triggering)

Give the contacts on both the camera and flash a good clean and check and make sure all the springy flash contacts mount firmly with the camera`s hot shoe, if the centre contact and the flash is not connected to the centre pin on the camera shoe the flash will not trigger.

Also double check all the camera settings.
