8. When you are in Eye Sensor mode, and when you look into the VF, and using OVF changing between macro and normal mode confirmation dialogue are all displayed inside the the VF through EVF.
But if you are in View Mode is VF only and you are using OVF, and if you want to switch to macro mode, the confirmation is not displayed through EVF but instead the confirmation box are displayed on the LCD display, which is annoying because I have to look away from the VF every time I want to switch to macro mode. Is this a bug? I'm on firmware 1.21.
(8) The OVF cannot display the confirmation msg about whether you are in macro mode although, if you are normally an OVF shooter, it'll be obvious because when you enter macro mode the camera will use EVF in any case.
Thank you for answering my question. But you have answered question 8 completely irrelevantly. Check whether this bug exist in your camera.
I know that OVF can not display confirmation msg. This is not about OVF ability to display confirmation bias (although honestly I don't see why it couldn't).
This question was about the way macro confirmation msg are displayed inconsistently in the two View Modes.
Let me restate the question.
There are three different View modes right? The LCD, the VF and the ES (eye sensor), which switches between LCD and VF.
Now there are two modes that can VF, and that is VF mode and the ES mode, right?
So we can ignore the LCD mode completely for this question.
The question I asked was, the way macro confirmation box is displayed differently when you are in VF in VF mode and in VF in ES mode. Do you understand what I'm using? Because you obviously use VF in VF mode, but you can also use VF in ES mode if you bring your eyes to the VF and the camera detects your eye and turn off the LCD and turn the VF. So you can use VF in two View Modes.
Now, in the ES mode, and you bring your eyes to the VF and the camera automatically switch to VF mode (coz you're in ES mode). Assuming that you're currently not in macro mode, then you have two choices, either OVF and EVF. NOW, IF YOU PRESS THE MACRO MODE BUTTON, THE CAMERA WILL BRING UP THE CONFIRMATION MSG INSIDE THE VF REGARDLESS WHETHER YOU'RE CURRENTLY USING OVF OR EVF. If you're in EVF, the confirmation box is displayed on the EVF, if you're in OVF, the confirmation box will still be displayed in the EVF after the camera pops up the EVF. So that you do not have to move your eyes away from the View Finder at all, no matter whether you were shooting OVF or EVF prior to hitting that macro button.
Now, in the VF mode, that is the mode where the LCD in suppose to be complete turn off. Again, you can either shoot OVF or EVF. NOW, THE MACRO CONFIRMATION BOX ARE DISPLAYED DIFFERENTLY. When your in EVF, and you're not in Macro mode, you hit the macro button, the Macro confirmation is displayed on the EVF, this confirmation is displayed the same way as using EVF in ES mode.
BUUUUUTTTTT, if you are using OVF in VF only mode, and you are not in Macro mode, when you hit the macro button, THE CAMERA DOES NOT POP UP THE EVF AND DISPLAY THE MACRO CONFIRMATION, BUT INSTEAD THE CONFIRMATION IS DISPLAYED ON THE LCD.
THIS WAS MY QUESTION!
We are using the same OVF in two different mode, but the macro confirmation is displayed different! Why is the macro confirmation being displayed on the LCD when you are in VF only mode instead of the confirmation being displayed through the EVF like ES mode?
