I picked up the 12-35 myself from Adorama on the same special a few months ago, Used the $100 to buy a nice B+W low profile UV filter for it and a few other odds and ends I'd been meaning to get. Or, you could use it to buy the Oly 40-150mm f4-5.6 when it goes on sale....save yourself some money instead of getting the 14-140mm. (I've had the last generation of 14-140mm, and was always surprised at how good it was for a superzoom, but neither it nor the current gen one are in the same league as the 12-35mm, which I why I suggest the 12-35mm and the Oly 40-150mm f4-5.6 instead)

BTW, one of my most favorite photos ever was taken with the 40-150mm....

they have the 40-150 fir $150 used - oh that is the pan not the Oly

that might be the way to go

If you wait a bit, Oly runs the 40-150mm on sale for usually around $99 every so often; if not for President's day, then usually in May (Mother's day) and June (Father's day and graduations). The Panasonic is 45-150, not a bad lens, but the Oly is better, and, fortunately since the GX85 has good IBIS, it will be a very good match with the Oly (which has no OIS).

Whether the Olympus is better than the Panasonic is debatable. The Olympus has gotten good reviews for the most part because of its price point relative to its performance. I don't know for a fact that one lens is better, whatever that means, since I haven't used or seen results from both side by side. What I do know, and it may or may nor be important, is that the Panasonic has a metal mount and the Olympus a plastic one.
