Do Olympus lenses need calibration?

AF adjustment is not just for Four Thirds lenses - it works with M43 lenses too (when you use them in C-AF mode, which is PDAF-based).

When the original EM-1 was introduced, a number of journalists met with senior Olympus engineers and designers for an extensive briefing about the technology inside the new model. One of them, Four Thirds User editor Ian Burley, wrote this long article about it.

Some snippets from that article, with the most relevant parts underlined by me:

PDAF with Micro Four Thirds lenses in Continuous AF (C-AF) mode, should mean much more stable C-AF focusing when targeting fast moving subjects like birds in flight (BIF).

[..] the PDAF mode does not rely on Contrast Detection AF (CDAF) to complete the focusing action as some 'hybrid' systems do, which can compromise focusing speed.

[..] As with the E-30 and E-5, as well as the E-620 DSLRs, PDAF focus points can be individually fine adjusted. The process has been much improved now that the focus points are on the sensor, so you get to see a magnified live view of the area covered by the focus point while you dynamically fine adjust that focus point. This works for both Four Thirds and Micro Four Thirds lenses and, as you would expect, adjustment data is saved specifically by individual lens, not just lens model.

Again, this was straight from the engineers who built the camera.  So, unless the C-AF in the Mark II was changed to work off contrast detection (which seems highly unlikely), calibration might still be a good idea for your 300mm F4. Just give it a try and you should find out quickly enough if making the adjustments leads to increased sharpness.
