I don't how I missed the one issue that would've made me not get this lens :). I've read tons of reviews and none of them mentioned the spherical aberration as far as I remember (aside from the Ken Rockwell one).

Probably gonna have to return this then. That spherical aberration is a huge downside for me since I wanted a lens that can focus close and still be sharp. Still can't believe I missed that specific feature.
