I did buy a mid-range Win 10 laptop a few months ago to run two legacy Windows programs that have been running on a aging Win 7 laptop. It's actually not all that old, but Windows laptops seem to age faster, or something.

While I appreciate that Win 10 is more user friendly, and the laptop is nice and peppy, I don't see myself making a permanent switch. There's not a thing wrong with my mid-2014 retina MBP. It will continue to be my go-to laptop. I'll hold off making a decision on upgrading the MBP until the Kaby Lake processors arrive. Otherwise, I'm perfectly content to stick with the one I already have for a few more years, or until something insanely great comes along.

If my system had been that new I'd be in a holding pattern too, most likely for a couple years. Until buying this HP my newest computer was from 2009, so this small system is phenomenal from where I'm coming from.
