Recommended lenses for the 750d (T6i)
1

Hello everyone, I just joined in the fun. A bit of a newbie regarding all the technical aspects of digital photography.

I am about to receive a Canon 750d, an order I made perhaps a bit too hastily before I fully contemplated the differences between aps-c and full-frame.

I have been playing around with various film cameras for a few years now, but not having a darkroom it was becoming financially impossible to sustain. Good 35mm developing is pretty expensive here in the UK.

I think I am going to have to stick to the crop frame 750d for a while. So what are the best options lens wise?

I've seen a lot of conflicting information regarding wide angle lenses on aps-cs, I'd like a good prime lens for night photography and for street photography. Is getting a wide angle a good choice for this camera, as I thought the extra angle would compensate for the smaller frame? The more I search about this the more confused I get.

Regarding night photography, I have seen the Sigma 24mm 1.4 ART being mentioned a lot, but it doesn't have image stabilization which might be an issue, considering I don't want to be carrying a tripod every time I want to do low light street photography.

Any other lenses which I might consider?

I'd also like to look into a good macro lens that can be great for portraits.

Is there such a thing?

Should I just have gone for a full frame?

Anyways, thanks a lot, and looking forward to being part of this community.

Dan
