The intention is to keep the Nikon gear but have a lightweight option as well.

I have a friend who went m43 recently and I have taken quite a few shots with his (OM-D M5 II and 60mm) and was impressed overall. Low light capability not as good as the Nikon but IQ certainly good enough for what I want otherwise. Much easier to focus bracket as well.

I heed your warning though.
