Hi
I am looking to switching to Micro4/3, I currently have an entry level Dslr and instead of investing into higher end ones, I prefer the lighter weight of the micro4/3.
looking at the em1 markii with either the 12-100 f4 or the 12-40 f2.8
i mostly shoot landscapes and outdoors, rarely indoors.
I have read all the topics about people trading their 12-40 for a 12-100, but as a new buyer do u think it is better to invest into the 12-100 for my type of photography or is the 12-40 a lot better, again mostly landscape so the f2.8 will not make a big difference for me and I like the extra reach and not having to switch lenses.
if i get the 12-100 I will probably get the 300mm f4
if I get the 12-40, I will probably need the 40-150 f2.8 AND the 300 f4,
so dollar wise the 12-100 option is better providing the quality is close
please be gentle, I am new
thanks guys
Gentle it is.
I own the 12-40 f/2.8, the 12-100 f/4 and the 40-150 f/2.8. I also have the 1.4 teleconverter that works with the 40-150 f/2.8. That gets me to 210mm. I also enjoy photographing the outdoors and wildife, and as such find use for all three.
As a start out, the 12-100 f/4 is a good choice, I have been impressed with the clarity and sharpness it delivers, though I admit I do not pixel peep it to death either. All the best in whatever you decide.
I used the 300 f/4 when I was in southern Africa this past May. For wildlife, that lens is stunning. I have not purchased a copy in as much while it would be good for that here in Colorado, when it comes to landscapes or even street scapes, I have never missed not having it.
Thanks

The Fujifilm X-T5 is the company's latest classically-styled APS-C mirrorless camera. It gains the 40MP sensor and AF system from the X-H2 but in a body with a more stills-focused slant. We've been putting it through its paces.
We're Noct messing around with this review.
Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom impress in a lot of ways, but their noise reduction lags the competition and their lens corrections lack a real-world basis. DxO PureRAW 3 aims to come to their rescue without totally reinventing your workflow!
The Sony ZV-E1 is the company's latest vlogging-focused camera: a full-frame mirrorless camera based the FX3/a7S III sensor, aimed at YouTubers and 'creators' looking to go pro.
The Sony ZV-E1 is a full frame camera targeting YouTubers. Chris and Jordan are Youtubers, what do they think?
