The last superzoom camera I had was a 6mp Sony H2 (12x zoom). I really liked that camera, but I found with all of our rainy and cloudy weather in Oregon that a DSLR was better (I have had Olympus and Canon DSLR cameras). But your P900 looks like it makes nice photos and the 2000mm EFL reach is impressive. In comparison, I can only reach a maximum of 960mm EFL with my Tamron 150-600mm lens. How does the P900 do in cloudy weather?

The P-900  won camera of the year last year on a couple of sites. It's not fast to shoot like a DSLR and I have to use the EVF exclusively to hold the camera still, but the built in image stabilization is amazing. The ability to zoom in to 2000mm is sheer joy.

I included a few shots that I shot on cloudy days. It's not cloudy days that prevent a shot it's light on the bird. Sometimes they are up on a wire and they are just a dark shadow because of where I am relative to the sun. To be sure, the P-900 is a point and shoot, but for me it's all about getting the shot. I've never been able to come close to getting shots like these with my Canon 100-400. Those subjects are just too far away. But 2000mm is another story and so fun to have in a relatively light camera.
