The Olympus PEN E-PL6 and E-PL7 have been sold out for a while on the Olympus website, leaving Olympus without a budget MFT offering. Will they be restocked or are these models soon to be discontinued?
The E-PL6 is a slightly updated E-PL5 and is old tech as far as IBIS is concerned. Avoid as there's better available.
The E-PL7 is a good update on the E-PL5/6 giving the better 3 axis IBIS and 0 sec anti-shock. Recommended.
The current E-PL8 is a very slight update on the E-PL7 and was seriously delayed in release by the earthquake on Kyushu. Recommended.
I would expect an E-PL9 to come along a bit earlier than expected as this Pen Lite line is still a good seller in Japan so they need to keep it fresh and updated.
My timeline may help sort out announcement dates and models http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/80-Oly-timeline.html
