Re: Appreciating WR in Southern California

The parrots may be the Yellow chevron parakeets. I googled them and they are certainly similar, though the birds I see seem slightly larger and have some white under the wings. Certain times of the year, they are there by the hundreds and seen flying back and forth. These days I only see 4 to 6 of them on a typical trip.

The barn owl is in one tree, one hole. I've never seen him anywhere else. Although he's usually there, sometimes he's either gone or so low in the tree he can't be seen. If you get interested, I can describe his EXACT location. I've also made a short You Tube that shows him and the surroundings. He's easy to find,.........IF you know where to look. If you did come to see him, the rest of Irvine Park is interesting. There's a small zoo there  and Yorba Regional is only about 15 min away.

Thanks for the good photo location tips. I will check them out.

Jack
