This section is not the best place to promote Olympus as a "better option", though. And if it's about travel, Pentax has advantages of its own - the ultralight, compact DA Limiteds, for example.

Yes the DA limited are for the most part very good lenses and  great options in terms of size. Hopefully Pentax will continue to develop such lenses

They are both weather sealed and both featured high res mode which is very useful for still landscapes shot with a tripod

You should mention the prices, too The EM-5 II is $900 ($1100 at launch), while the K-70 is $620 ($650 at launch, it's a newer camera); but the biggest difference is with lenses: while the Pentax 16-85 is a $520 lens, the Olympus 12-100 is more than double - $1300.

Indeed but to be fair the 12-100 is much more pro lens than the 16-85mm. the olympus 12-50mm or the panasonic 12-60mm are more direct competitors to the 16-85mm and the Panasonic is actually a bit cheaper

No you give me too much credit . I had just forgot about this lens

so if the OP buys the Panasonic lens new and the em5 used the price difference would be minimal

OTOH, higher prices won't bring you smaller DSLR cameras and lenses. But saving up $1060 might make the DSLR easier to lug around.

Weight is weight regardless of the price and buying used is an option. Maybe the difference in budget is a problem for the OP, maybe not

But as someone wrote maybe the OP already bought the K70, in which case this is more useful for someone else reading this thread

Useful to whom? If someone is interested in this mirrorless thing, he could go to the appropriate section.

Well you never know and again I do not know where the OP is regarding his purchase decision but  I have said what I wanted to say. Maybe the K70 fits him better depending on his priorities
