Being in NX system for only 3 years, but perfectly happy with whatever the system offered (except the flash gun situation I am into right now!).
Having all the lenses I need, especially the unique 16-50S, and 3 cameras for specific things each (NX1-pro work, NX500-B cam/travel cam, NX3000-everyday cam) I couldn't even think of another system replacing what I am getting from NX. Well, today I am having second thoughts.
It is not only the new GH5, which is a videographer's dream, and for only 1999$, but also the. under the radar, GX850, which can be the NX3000 equiv. and the G85 (or GX85, even cheaper and more stylized) that can be a different approach of the NX500 subject.
I just bought GX80 because in UK it costs 239gbp (after cashback). I bought it with two tiny zooms 12-32 and 35-100. However I GX80 is comparable to NX500 in IQ - dynamic range is aparently poor, resolution is obviously much worse, noise much higher... I don't think there is a replacement.
Panasonic is really trying to push the envelope here, I believe they are number 1 in innovation these days. Probably these announcements today will push the whole industry a bit (I see a6xx people to save for another announcement soon, because a6300 and a6500 do not make any sense at all right now!).
I agree with your opinion about Panasonic. However m43 has too small sensor. I get accetable amout of blur with 16-50 S. No way I could get anything i like from panasonic 12-35 f2.8.
I completely agree, for video though, 10bit 4:2:2/180fps slow motion can be very important for some, not much though, and not this year, the innovation is there though, and it is a good thing.
Yes, video is different story, however even here I really like file sizes of h265 and excellent details coming from samsung. I really doub m43 compares favourably with NX1 downscalling of 28mpix. the screenshots comparison I've seen show meaningfully less sharpness and details on m43 camera. But that was obviously not gh5.
Where did you buy GX80?! I am getting one right now for 300pounds! I actually have almost 200pounds left from my last trip to UK, and my best friend leaves Thursday for London (in case they need a UK adress to send it).
park cameras. but use this:

The only problem is that double cashback offer ended yesterday. Bad luck.
