I can talk for myself:

1) I don't like UI of sony

2) I don't like touchscreen (when present) implementation by sony

3) I don't like the lenses that sony has for APS-C - AND - I don't like the size/prices of the lenses for FF

4) I don't like Sony marketing (A6300 and few months later A6500...not good)

5) I don't like 24MP sensor for APS-C after than samsung had a 28MP sensor bach in 2014

It's all about how great these new cameras compare to canon's dual pixel autofocus in video mode for me plus a few other video features.

I'm actually selling my NX1 (on eBay ends today actually) and keeping an eye on these new cameras. I am invested in canon lenses and had hoped I could use them but it never really worked with the NX mount. But the biggest issue is that I use a canon c100 at work and the dual pixel autofocus is just so amazing compared to anything that currently shoots 4K with aps-c in the NX price range. I'm hoping the gh5 or 6500 offer a similar AF lock/unlock ability in video mode that works as well as dual pixel but I'm not sure. Everyone seems to be into tracking with the touchscreen which I never really liked or have gotten used to. I was never able to afford any of the s f2.8 lenses either (figured I would use my canon lenses) and now those are gone...

But these other manufacturers cameras do work with canon /metabones adapters and that's a big plus for saving on new lens investment.

it does seem like the other manufacturers are finally getting close to the NX1 two years later...
