How come you did not get your daughter an M5 as well? I know the M5 is substantially more but curious.

The M3 was my daughter's request. I thought she was just being economical (which I appreciate), but I later learned that she was unaware of the M5 release. Her 6D is the better camera and she has some nice primes to match, so the M3 was just to add some portability. She is a bit of a collector and also has such things as an instamatic, a lomo and my original EOS 620 SLR in her collection. I try to strike a balance between encouraging her interest in photography and teaching her that you can't have it all, especially when I'm paying!

The M3 Will probably please her

The M5 beats the 6D in many areas though. Except ofc in the shallow DoF department and when you want the FF lenses' true focal length.

Im also happy to report that all the adapted lenses I've tried so far works flawlessly on the M5 compared to my M1 and M3. Shame about that 18-250 of yours :-/
