Help! X-T2 randomly distorts photos
2

Hi!

I've had my X-T2 for almost 2 months now (coming from a 5DIII, which I still own) and am very happy with it so far.

One reason (amongst many others) I bought the X-T2 is that I want to do timelapsing and shooting simultaneously, so I need two bodies, and the X-T2 appealed to me (smaller size, great lenses, etc.).
Within the last few days I started to do some timelapsing tests, nothing serious so far, but I have always noticed that in some frames, the field of view shifts/distorts a little bit. Looks like lens distortion correction. Needless to say, that such timelapse footage is completely useless.

Here you can watch a short example. Notice how it shifts/distorts - you can see it very distinctively in the left corner.

As for the settings used:

X-T2 with XF 10-24mm f/4.0 OIS

Manual exposure (ISO 200, 12mm, f/8.0, 1/30sec)

Manual WB

Manual focus

OIS off

Internal lens correction off (as I suspected this to be the reason)

I did not bump the camera during timelapsing, nor do I have some pets or anything. The camera was standing still all the time, I was in the room but I did not come close.

I'm really clueless what could cause this... I'd really need some input because this way, the X-T2 is rather useless to me...

Thank you very much!

Thomas
