Hi!

Do you need it though? I mean I could think of leaving NX system because I'm not very heavily invested in it (16-50S +45/1.8) but for someone who is quite heavily invested I do not see the immediate benefit of GH5.

GH5 body only seems to be at $2k. I picked up NX1 + 16-50S for that price..

You might be a professional so your reasons could be quite different and justified in itself being a pro.

But personally I do not see any benefit in GH5 other than video usage. For stills it still use M43 sensor and 20MP max. Just my opinion

I voted for "Find a cure for Gear Acquisition Syndrome" to DPR's "What's your photo-related New Year's resolution?"poll!!

GH5 seems like a complete video orientated camera, with good quality pictures as a bonus.

4K 10bit 4:2:2 and 60frames internally is the first for anyone, makes an external recorder unnecessary (it also has a couple of such monitor features, again a first for a camera).

Also, very good IBIS+lens IS, making an external stabilizer (most of the times) unnecessary too.

Also, they have a whole system (I like having multiple cameras of the same systems!) that can fulfill all my needs, the first system achieving this after NX.

The prices are right for what they offer.

What they don't have, is a lens like the 16-50S, everything else is there. Even the notorious poor high ISO performance of NX makes m4/3 better than ever.
