The manuals can still be downloaded online. It explains every feature in detail (including the pano low resolution) I suggest reading it thoroughly so you'll know exactly what each feature does.
Could you point me to page number where this is mentioned?
It's an excellent camera, and just like any camera on the market there are features that if used improperly will pride results you may not like. Ignorance of what the options are is no reason to call the camera poor.
What is improper in using P mode and what is proper in changing mode from RAW to JPEG in P mode?
Come on!
Page 62 of the manual states 'The resolution varies depending on the panoramic photo you captured.'
Thanks, but it's a tricky sentence without revealing limitation. Normally one interpret it as resolution depending on and in multiple of number of pictures shot.
It does roughly, the panorama can be stopped partway due to too much shake, etc... So let me get this straight, you thought an itty bitty camera was stitching high resolution photos in real time faster than ICE on an i7? Yes, Samsung packs a lot in there, but not quite that much
In no way I can interpret it as super low resolution.
How does the above make that not possible? Did you not review a single one? It is obvious in the image review.
Do you know what really isn't obvious? As "primarily a Sony user" you should be used to much worse by now. It seems to me that you're here to vent your bias rather than to try to draw attention to genuine issues. Shall I take a trip to the Sony forum and tell you guys a few of the things wrong there? It would be quite the book. Samsung cameras do have some issues, for me this is not one of them.
