From the point of view of kit lenses...

I am looking at buying the G7 body, and I'm considering the lens package deals available at the moment. I have an older lens which has been used on the panasonic AF100EN video recorder.

LUMIX GX VARIO PZ 45-175MM F4/5.6 ASPH/POWER O.I.S LENS

Would there be any limitations using this lens on the g7 (eg. some functions not working)

Also, how this lens compares to the 45-150mm lens

which is part of the package offers at present.

Advice would be great, as I'm happy to just buy the body (with a 25mm included) and use the older lens if it compares ok.

Thanks

unless I'm mistaken, the Panasonic 45-175mm PZ lens is the best one out there. The only real problem is possible shutter shock. If you generally use electronic shutter, then you wouldn't notice so just keep using the PZ lens. If you mainly use mechanical shutter, well, possibility of shutter shock exist. If you have used that lens with the AF100EN and like it, then I doubt you would ever really see any problems so just keep on using it.

The only lenses that I can tell, that are better are the pro lenses from each camp.

As for using it specifically on the G7, I don't think there are any limitations to be concerned with.
