My new (used) 28-70mm 2.8 Nikon lens squeaks during autofocus.

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a used 28-70mm 2.8 lens which is really a great copy and super sharp with my D810. I used to have one like this 3 years ago and regret selling it. I put it on sale because I did not own a full-frame back then and the 28mm was not always useful on D80 cropped sensor.

Anyways, I am still hesitating now whether to keep this one or pass on it because the lens auto-focuses and zooms just fine but there is a squeaky noise when it is auto-focusing. When moving the focus ring manually beyond the limit in both direction it makes the same noise too feeling some slight resistance like something needs lubricating.

Does anyone know if it has a failing motor which is going out soon inside the lens? Or it just needs some servicing/lubrication and it should not cost too much to have it taken care by Nikon? Should I take a chance?

Any advise - welcome.

Thanks!
