Re: m5 low light af vs any current canon eos

This is not true on either point. There is the EF-M 22 f2.0. Canon is not pushing their M lens series hence the inclusion of the free EF to EF-M adapter with the M5 packages.

What Canon is not telling eos users that the m5 uses technology that does not require lens/camera micro adjustments. I found this to be a very significant benefit. I micro adjust my lens, but even after doing that I found that the sharpness of images taken in good light on stationary objects on my m5 is sharper than those taken on my other eos cameras. I am not saying those taken on my non m5 canon cameras are not sharp, just the m5 ones are spot on sharp. To me the sharpness, small size and decreased weight is why I bought the camera as I already own canon accessories (lens, flashes, etc.).

But, it is not a low light camera nor a sports camera (e.g. bif, football, basketball, et al).

It is my understanding it is one of the best mirrorless cameras for low light focusing.

For some eos users this will be a rude, unhappy awakening.

Not if they are familiar with the differences between mirrorless technology and that of DSLR's.

To one of your earlier points it is my understanding the camera only has one sensor and it is also used for focusing so I don't know why it would tell you that every time it takes a photo?

It seems like much of your dissatisfaction comes from the state of mirrorless tech rather than with Canon specifically. Although the M5 looks like a miniature DSLR it is still a mirrorless camera and still bound by those limitations.
