It seems to have made a difference to something - seems to be behaving better in 'M' Manual mode, histogram before photo taken and image preview looks more accurate AND like taken image taken and its histogram.

I will need to experiment with this setting off.

I think it is just a matter of display instead of any real affection to the performance of the camera. I also keep it off for a more tidy (easier to see) screen.

Have followed up on the Preview issue. 1st, shock to find my old brain has faded out so far. Although have shooting with GX1/GF3 for 3 years (GX1 was my main camera at that time) and shooting with GX7 for 2 years and GX85 is just shorter than 1 year, I forgot/mixed up a lot of their way of operation! Alzheimer's disease?

Back to business. Based on the various generation of Pany cameras I owned (G1, GX1, GX7 and GX85):

It is confirmed that the Live view (Having Constant Preview in Menu = ON) or Preview for older models, including GX7, would have their simulation live update up to 1/1000".  Live view would not be updated beyond that shutter speed. Including the live histogram.

As per GX85, that limitation has been removed.

For your (OP) particular case, why not set a slower f/stop on your lens (unless you need that f/1.4) for the live view?
