Lens or new tracker?

At the moment I have an iOptron Skytracker that I'll admit to not having a lot of experience with but from what I've read 200mm is it's limit.  My longest lens in its weight capability is a F2.8 100 macro.  I've considered the EF 200 2.8 as my next purchase as it would be inside the envelope of my tracker.

I also have a EF 100-400 II.  I've read that it can do astrophotography.

Rather than buy the EF 200 2.8 would you buy an astrotrac TT 320X?

To save money can I make the polar scope from my skytracker work well enough to get started?

The wedge astrotrac sells is a bit more than I want to put out.  Will the Manfrotto 410 gear head work?  I've wanted a gear head for other applications.

I welcome the advice of the group.  I have a month or two before I can purchase either of my options.

Thanks,

Szumi
