using DSLR Lens adaptor on Panasonic GX7 displays wrong exposure info

Hi,

Have recently got a Panasonic GX7 and initially was not happy with photos coming out too dark for my liking even when exposure dial said it was at 0. I am working round this by taking a photo, and then checking its exposure and then taking another one if needed. I don't need any help with this as I posted a question on this and had some advice and was told is how Panasonic like to process images. So am on with this, however...

MY CURRENT QUESTION

I have recently got a lens adaptor and fitted my old 50mm AF EF Canon lens on to my GX7. I am having to shoot at f1.8 but is ok.

I am shooting in Manual as I wanted to see the changes in exposure in real time on the screen and have set the setting ON to enable this.

My question is: Does the exposure information work properly when using a lens adaptor in manual mode and manual focus?

It is not behaving correctly and is showing image as being too bright on back of screen when checking before I am going to take the photo. It says it's over exposed and the histogram also says this. BUT when I take the photo is too dark.

Thanks for any info on this.
