I think the 3D version is optically better given it has 9 Diaphragm Blades (better bokeh) compared with 7 on the non 3d version.
Apologies for bringing this old thread up, for some reason DPR specifications comparison of these lenses say that the 3D version has 9 blades vs non 3D verison has 7. I have sent an enquiry to them if it is a mistake.
However Samsung website says 9 blades. So safe to assume DPR just got it wrong in specs sheet? Reason for asking, currently the 3D version is on special price and not very different to the non 3D. However if both are identical with just the difference is 3D, then I'd rather get non 3D, that way at least there is a much more useful AF/MF button instead of 3D/2D button!

I've owned both the 3d and the non 3d version and although I can't confirm about the number of blades, I haven't noticed any difference between the 2 at all (not sure I'd be able to anyway though?)
However if there is a deal on the 3d I'd probably go for that as the 3d effect is quite good, albeit a bit of a novelty.
On the other hand, the 3D construction is a bit more complicated (so it could be dangerous in case of damage or servicing), and the selection thingy at the side is A/M for the NON 3D one, which is very good to have on lens, while the otjer is 3D/2D , or something?
