You're very welcome. Definitely try those settings. If you are shooting mostly JPEGs, then both the iDynamic and Highlight Shadow curve can be used as an alternative to constantly adjusting the exposure compensation to match the Nikon's exposure. It will give you an illusion of brighter i.e. overexposed image due to the raised shadow level and preserved highlight. Well, that entirely depends on your metering method though so results may vary.

Of course with iDynamic and Highlight Shadow curve, you will have to be carefull about contrast, since the images will look flat. You may need to adjust the contrast on your color profile to get a "normal un-HDR" look, but that's entirely up to personal taste and preference. So all I can say is experiment with all the options that are mentioned so far and see which method you like best to get that exposure to the "correct" value.
