FD lenses on T2i....anyone?

Are any of you folks using legacy FD (manual) lenses on your Digital Rebel cameras?  Is this a practical thing at all?  The focus would have to be totally eyeballed.  Correct?  So using smaller apertures (ie. f8, f11, f16), would almost be a requirement.  Correct?

I've been considering the purchase of a couple of such lenses, but wanted to ask you folks about the practical-ness of such a move.

I assume I'd need a EF-S to FD adapter?

Would making such a move be any more practical (or not) using my EOS-M camera instead?

Right now, just looking for comments.

Thanks

Bob
