This was one of my pet peeves with the T6s when I had it (and one of the many reasons why I ended up going with the 70D instead).

Canon basically left that entire option off the wifi menus. Notice there are only 5 icons on the menu? The 6th one was the EOS utility option that, among other things, allowed you to download pics to a pc.

A work around is to send all your photos to your Google Drive and if you are running the Google sync utility on your PC, Google Drive will sync the photos to your pc.

The EOS utility simply doesn't work with the T6s/i. Canon should have at least allowed the utility to download pics via wifi and just disabled the remote shooting part. Kind of petty on Canon's part IMO.

Unfortunate you didn't figure out how to download pics to a PC from the T6s because this is how it's done.

You CAN use Wi-Fi to transfer your pictures from your T6s/T6i to your computer.

Press: Menu>wench1>Wi-Fi/NFC choose "enable"

Go back to the menu, select "Wi-Fi Function

Select the monitor picture, "View images on DLNA devices"

You are given 3 options, Choose "find network", OK is then highlighted, select it.

Your camera then looks for wireless networks, and produces a list. Select your network, and hit "ok".

At this point, it asks me to enter my network password:
1. Enter 8-63 ASCII charactors
2. Enter 64 hexadecimal char.
If you have chosen a different level of security for your wireless network, things will be different.

You are presented with a mini keyboard, enter your password, select "ok"

The next page is "ip address set", select "auto"

After a few seconds of "busy", you get the "Connection" screen.

That's it, you're connected to your network. Two options are listed:

1. Disconnect, exit --select when your done
2. Confirm set. --select gives you access to 4 pages of your network connection settings.
Put the camera down, go to your computer. Windows 10, should be similar for others

1. select window (start) button>"file explorer"
2. select "this PC" from the list.

Under "network locations" there is a black, square icon, with the letters "EOS" Labeled, "Canon EOS Rebel T6s"
Double click the EOS icon and then "SD folder">> "100 canon" >>(numbered picture folders. That's it, your pictures. Once you setup your connection you can choose it again without entering all the info over again.

I've just tried your method. It works but only for JPEG's! The only method I've found that works for Raws too is using a program called Airnef (works for canon cameras too)

Will airnef work with Canon EOS 1300D aka T6. I'm able to transfer photos to smartphone using wifi, but not to a PC. Get some weird error saying no photo selected or function not available.

Hello mate. I don't own a 1300D so can't test. Basically Airnef on the PC emulates a smartphone and so if you have an option on your camera to send to smartphone then I would imagine yes (you may need to turn your smartphone off if you have Canon apps installed). In the camera you select Smartphone as your destination, start Airnef and it should work (you don't select images in camera as airnef downloads all untransfered images automatically). Leave you cameras wifi settings on auto (no advanced stuff) and type Auto into Airnef for the I.p address of your canon. In the camera chose infrastructure mode if you want to reach your pc via your router (Ethernet) or instead of infrastructure mode you can choose camera access point mode which makes the camera create its own wireless network that doesn't go through the router, and you'd have to tell the pc to disconnect from its Ethernet connection and then connect to the camera's WiFi network (you'd need a wifi enabled PC or laptop to be able to do that).

Let me know how you got on plz

@Paul, Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion about airnef was my expectation about the application. However for some reason, I cant get airnef to work with Canon EOS 1300D. I get the following error. I think I have followed the steps mentioned here exactly. Anyway, I will try playing around with airnef hoping to get it working with 1300D. Thanks.

Validating MTP obj cache directory object "DCIM" on handle 0x90000000

MTP_OP_GetObjectInfo: Socket error, partial data received - 0x0 of 0x0 bytes for specific payload, 0x0 of 0x0 of total data bytes expected. Error: timed out

Hello mate. I'm sure you can appreciate that it's very hard to tell what's going on if I don't have your camera or pc in front of me. Also, I'm not clued up enough on the subject to give solid answers. I would suggest directly asking your question on the Airnef forum. It may take a few days to get a reply but the software's author personally will reply to you and is very helpful. Here's the link:

The only other thing I can think of is to reset all your WiFi settings on your camera and give it another try.

Hi Paul, I've tried a full wifi settings reset couple of times. I'll try the airnef forum as you suggested. Thanks again.

Regards

Joe

Please let me know how it goes
