NX1 exposure control

Hello everybody, I have a NX1 with the 16-50S lens. Mostly use it for family portraits.

Pardon me if my question is not clear, relatively new to photography.

I wanted to take some christmas light portraits (basically a dark room, where the only light source are some christmas lights) but I am noticing my camera is not able to hold a constant exposure

I have the camera in basically complete manual mode (iso 1600, f2.5, 1/100, manual focus).

Looking at the EVF, or LCD the image goes through a cycle from dark to bright. It's hard to explain with words, so figured I could attach two photos taken right after each other.

I don't understand why would two consecutive photos taken exactly with the same settings be so different? Can someone explain? Is there another setting I should be changing?

Thanks!

Jon
