Re: 23mm f1.4 "Clicking" and Shifting Frame when Focusing?

I too hadn't noticed the anomaly when taking the first fifty or so test shots. For those shots I relied uncharacteristically on the AF. I had some issues with the lens hitting the mark for ultimate sharpness in AF so I went through the focal range in manual and that's where I noticed it. It is so obvious when fine tuning the focus. While dialing the ring, just the distance of a few of those ribs that are cut in the ring, CW - CCW, it is really noticeable.

I believe that it is also that "looseness" that is affecting the AF too.

I will probably not have any issues with walking the lens into the Dusseldorf. Just the administrative hassles of trading out for a new lens - not a refirb.

In the meantime I will try the cleaning the contacts on the lens and body - though all things are apparently pointing to a mechanical looseness - simpler things have had simpler solutions of course, thanks for that tip Vic.

I just wanted to put a heads up on the forum as many of us do just use their AF exclusively and may be wondering why there just isn't that typical FUJI sharpness in their work with this or other lenses. Hope this doesn't open an unknown can of worms.

Keep the E-Type Alive!

Thanks-all !
