Just want to share some of my thoughts:

With all due respect, you can't customize Panasonic to the level it starts to behave as an Olympus. Camera is a partner of yours: accommodates to your behavior and expect something from you in return.

So, be patient and flexible when you train Pana to be something else - it won't happen the way you want it.

Could not disagree more. Panasonic allows for a tremendous amount of customization. Panasonic also has the benifit of having a few dedicated buttons , ISO, WB and +/- EV that you can't customize but are well marked and easy to remember. From my experience of teaching hundreds of photo enthusiasts a year, the almost unlimited customization of Olympus becomes very confusing, especially for those who buy smaller cameras to travel with and only use them a few times a year on exotic vacations. You could easily argue they should use their cameras more often but many don't. Then the expensive travel destination vacation comes up and they're thrown back into needing to know a very complicated camera. In short, Olympus is a fabulous tool if you shoot constatnly. Panasonic is equally powerful but easier to learn and remember.

As I understood what s_grins meant is that Panasonic is not Olympus, it does want to be, and most importantly, it does not need to be.
