I hope you end up enjoying the camera. I've owned a G7 and handled a G85, and I have a positive opinion of both. In terms of being helpful to others considering making a switch to Panasonic and who may not read through all of this thread, though, I do think it is unfortunate that you have made several erroneous statements. It might have been better to spend a bit more time with the manual first, or ask questions about a feature. Here are three such statements:

In looking at the G-85, the camera's interface for P/A/S is setup more for a camera with single dial. The default interface uses either dial to set the main setting (program shift, aperture, shutter speed). To set exposure compensation, you have to press the exposure compensation button and rotate a dial.

As I got the camera this was indeed the behavior. Yes, you can change the option, but as you get it out of the box, that is how it was done.

Well, the third sentence that I quoted is certainly not accurate.  To use one of the dials to set E.C., one merely has to read the manual and configure the camera that way as part of the obligatory process of setting up a modern camera to one's taste.  I'm pretty sure that when you wrote this you were not aware of being able to do this, which was due to not spending much of any time with the manual.  Alternatively, if you had known this was so easily configurable, why make the comment at all?  It's akin to a RAW shooter complaining that a new camera is set up for JPG shooters, when RAW is just one setting away.

In terms of menu buttons, having the quick menu being programmable so that you can bring up the items you use all of the time, might be useful in the future.

I don't see this as false. I was saying it appears to be a useful feature that I haven't yet used.

Hmmm, I interpreted your statement as a suggestion to Panasonic, that in the future it might be useful if they made the quick menu programmable, which could lead others to mistakenly believe that it is not.  If you were aware that it was programmable, I would have expected the sentence to read more like, "It is useful that the quick menu is programmable, allowing you to bring up the items you use all the time."  I guess I misunderstood you.

Yes, the forum is for sharing impressions and for asking questions.  Some impressions, like how good the EVF is, or the grip, don't require reading the manual first.  I just think that one should spend some time with the manual before making statements about how the menus and buttons and dials work, if one wishes to be fair to the camera.
