Re: Panasonic G85 from an Olympus user

I've used Olympus cameras since 1999. The first was a D-340R. Since then, I've had D40Z, C4040, C5060, C8080, E-300, E-510, E-520, E-P2, E-PL1, E-PM1, E-PM2, XZ-2, E-M1. Back in 2011, I think, I bought a Panasonic G3. Still have it. Love the form factor and a lot of other things about it (e.g., fast focusing, noise performance was as good as Oly's 16MP cameras). Only don't like two things about it: 1) shutter shock, especially with some lenses like Oly 45mm; 2) image color had a slight green tint to it especially noticeable with skin tones, although can be mitigated somewhat with custom WB.

I'm interested in the G85 as well. Seems like they've fixed the shutter shock issue. And I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be many complaints about the Panasonic colors on their recent cameras.

Only thing that keeps me from buying the G85 is I want 4/3 lens support for this type (size) of camera. I still use the 12-60mm SWD as the primary lens on my E-M1. And my 50-200mm SWD works fine on the E-M1 as well, although I don't use it that much. If Panasonic would have included PDAF support on the G85, I would certainly buy it. I still don't know why Panasonic doesn't do this as I believe they developed the E-M1 sensor.

Oh, on my E-PM2, I believe I have the problem with seeing the rear LCD in landscape orientation with polarized sunglasses on, but not in portrait orientation. But I could be mistaken on that. I have not used polarized sunglasses with the other Oly cameras.  EDIT:  I just realized that you said exactly the same thing.  Sorry, I had misread your comments earlier.
