Pentax Rookie, need Advice on AF, wildlife

hey there good People of the Pentax Forum

today I stumbled into the Pentax System by ordering a K-50 with the Kit and a 200mm F2.8.
I want to use this Set especially for moderate wildlife photography (Europe), as well as typical day to day shots of my average city life*. the Camera should be here this week, then I want to evaluate if it's the right choice for me.
to do that, I need a bit of advice on how to use the K-50s AF system to the fullest to take sharp pictures of birds, especially when in flight. I read that the Pentax AF may not be the greatest, but I sure guess that it's capable enough - I have seen BIF shots taken with all kinds of gear - including Pentax of course.
I have never really tried to take wildlife shots**, but it's something that I want to do and I am ready to learn/do whatever it takes***.

I'm actually a total newbie concerning AF in general - so very thankful for any tips!
about the K-50: I know it's not the latest and greatest, but I always wanted to try a Pentax and, well, today it was on Amazon for a good price. the same goes for the 200mm f2.8, which I actually got for a steal = I couldn't afford not to buy it
I'm not scared of the "smalll" 16mp Sensor, I used a Nex 6 for a long time and the file Size and IQ seems ideal to me. I guess it will be quite the same with the Pentax.
can't wait to try it out!

*: that's secondary because I have a Sony A7 and lots of vintage glass to take shots at a leisurely pace, so for Architecture and Landscape I have a solid system already, with nice IQ. no worries.
**: the A7 and LAEA4 with Minolta screw-drive AF didn't get me anywhere fast, so I stopped trying early. do you think the Pentax K-50 is noticeably better?
***: except spending much more money. the 200mm has to do for now - any point in adding a teleconverter?
