Re: which is better as the 2nd camera?

Ok. I got to play with the RX100 a bit tonight and compared it with the GR.

No doubt, GR has less noise at high ISO and the images are just sharper. However, the RX100 is no slouch at 28mm. DOF is about the same between the two. GR has a larger sensor, but slower lens.

In low light, RX100 focuses faster than the GR.

Normally, you'd want to use the tele-end for subject isolation. However, with the RX100, the best subject isolation comes at the wide end. This troublesome for portraiture, I think. Maybe the mark iii, iv and v are better with the brighter lens.

Right now, I am leaning towards selling the GR. It handles better and takes better image. But it's not that much better than the RX100.

RX100 is shorter and easier to carry, I think.

Now, the X100 ... at f2.0 and up close, the lens is noticeably softer than the GR and the RX100 wide open.

I started to believe that, for me, the most logical decision is to sell both the GR and the x100. Use the RX100 along side the E-M1.

Still not able to convince myself to let the X100 go though. It's such a beautiful camera.
