It sounds pretty magical to me!  We both live in beautiful areas of the world!  Cindy

Thank you so much, Miles! Do they have many deciduous trees in Greece? I know a couple of English friends of mine have said that in the areas that they live, they don't get as vibrant displays as we do in New England (USA)--is that the case where you live, as well? Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Most places don't really get much autumn colours. Athens is mostly surrounded by (scarce) fir tree forests, and where I live in Corfu we have many olive trees and cypress trees. They all stay green. The Aegean? We make fun of them - I think the tallest plant there is rosemary! But in mainland Greece, in the mountainous areas, we do get some spectacular displays (in Zagorochoria, Meteora, Rodopi...) It's later in the year than in new England of course. Yesterday was a pretty OK day to go to the beach here, a bit chilly but not too bad!

Hmmm, maybe we should try to make a family weekend trip... if we manage to find enough time!
